Dear Registering UPK Parents/Guardians,
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Middle Country School District's UPK program. Part of the UPK experience is to be an involved parent and family. PTA is an excellent opportunity and a great place to start. The purpose of the PTA is to promote the welfare of children in home, school and community.
Your membership dues and fundraising dollars allow the PTA to bring many different programs and activities into the school for the children’s enjoyment and enrichment. The PTA sponsors many events such as a pumpkin patch, holiday boutique, field day and many others. The PTA also participates in many activities to help the community such as the Thanksgiving food drive, the holiday toy and clothing drives.
Becoming a member of the PTA does not require you to volunteer and participate in every event. However, we encourage your participation. Any time that you are able to volunteer, even an hour or two, is very much needed and appreciated. The PTA of each school meets once a month to discuss upcoming activities, community news, the school district and Board of Education business matters and concerns. The principal usually attends and gives a report on the previous month’s activities.
If you would like more info about your building PTA, please fill out the following tear-off and return it to Denise Ferrera, UPK Administrator. We look forward to seeing you all in September as your child embarks on a new and wonderful journey!
Thank you,
PTA Presidents
