Kim Pelan – Assistant Principal New Lane Elementary School

  • Kim Pelan Mrs. Pelan grew up on Long Island and graduated from Mineola High School. Upon graduation, she attended Marist College where she majored in History and minored in Psychology. Mrs. Pelan began teaching social studies and coaching volleyball at Malverne High School on Long Island. While teaching, Mrs. Pelan earned her M. S. in Special Education at Queens College and her M.S. in Educational Leadership at The College of Saint Rose. Currently, Mrs. Pelan is attending Long Island University to work on her Doctorate in Transformational Leadership.

    Mrs. Pelan was hired as the Assistant Principal at Newfield High School in 2013. Throughout her ten years at Newfield she worked with many different students, helping them to reach their potential and supported them to take on new challenges as they entered adulthood. Recently, Mrs. Pelan wanted to take on a new challenge, working at the elementary level to help the students to begin their educational journey to become successful life longer learners and contributors to the Middle Country Community. Mrs. Pelan is looking forward to working at New Lane Elementary School with Mrs. Newberg to create a positive place for students to learn and grow. Our motto this year is New Year, New Results, New Beginnings, New Lane.
