Amy Pacifico - Director of World Studies, PK-12

    Amy Pacifico is the PK -12 Director of World Studies for the Middle Country Central School District where she supervises the Social Studies, English as a New Language, and World Language departments. She has been with the district since 2015 and previously served as the K-12 Coordinator of World Studies where she supervised the Social Studies, Library, and English as a New Language departments. In these roles, she has implemented programs such as National History Day research and the Seal of Civic Readiness. Ms. Pacifico has also expanded access for English Language Learners through various programs and professional development initiatives. 

    Prior to her appointment to Middle Country, Ms. Pacifico had the privilege of teaching students in the Valley Stream Central High School District for fifteen years. For seven of those years, she served as the Social Studies department chairperson in two of the district’s schools, Central High School and Memorial Junior High School. Ms. Pacifico earned her BA in American Studies from Mount Holyoke College and her MAT in Social Studies and an advanced graduate certificate in School District Administration from SUNY Stony Brook.
