
Ryan Milano is eager to join the Middle Country Central School District as the K-12 Coordinator of Math. He brings with him a passion for high-quality student learning and mathematics education. As the coordinator of mathematics, he looks forward to working with teachers across grades to develop problem solving strategies, align curriculum, and plan engaging lessons that encourage students to think deeply about mathematics.
Prior to joining the Middle Country Central School District, Mr. Milano served as a teacher and instructional coach at a New York City public school in Rockaway Park. He worked with mathematics and special education teachers to develop and share best practices. In addition, Mr. Milano worked on the team of teachers tasked with picking a citywide Common Core Algebra I curriculum. He has also reviewed mathematics assessment items for New York City’s Specialized High School Admissions Test.
Mr. Milano earned his bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University, majoring in mathematics education. He remained at St. John’s for his master’s degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages. He earned his administrative license at the College of St. Rose.
