I grew up not far from Middle Country and attended nearby schools. There I learned that public school was an intellectually stimulating, academically challenging and above all an emotionally and physically safe place. It was a natural decision for me to enter the field of education, which I did as a Social Studies teacher upon my college graduation. What I didn’t understand then, but came to recognize through my years as a teacher was the pivotal role played by school administrators in setting the overall school tone and providing the environment and support that allows teachers to practice their craft. It was with that mission in mind that I began my administrative career in Middle Country as an Assistant Principal (in 2005), Principal (2014), and then as Director of Curriculum (2017). In this time, I’ve experienced firsthand the commitment of our community, faculty, and staff to provide our students with the solid foundation of skills and experiences they draw on to build successful and fulfilling lives after graduation. It is an honor to have the opportunity to continue to serve the Middle Country community in the role of Assistant Superintendent for Instruction.
