Mrs. Newberg is very excited to continue her career within the Middle Country Central School District. She comes to the New Lane principal position after serving as the Coordinator of Universal Pre-Kindergarten and previously as the Assistant Principal of New Lane Memorial Elementary School. At New Lane she was able to gain valuable experience and forge meaningful relationships with Middle Country families. As the UPK Coordinator Mrs. Newberg continued to build relationships with families and increase her knowledge of the educational continuum. She is excited to begin yet another journey and return to New Lane as the principal to continue making a positive impact on the entire community.

Mrs. Newberg came to us from Freeport Public Schools as a Reading Specialist with over 15 years of classroom and reading experience. She has a passion for literacy and for guiding students to reach their full potential. She prides herself on building relationships and fostering growth.

Mrs. Newberg earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Education from Dowling College. She then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Literacy from Touro College. Not wanting to stop, she received her School District and School Building Leader certificates from the College of Saint Rose.

Mrs. Newberg feels extremely lucky to continue to be a part of the Middle Country Central School District so she can continue to support their vision of empowering and inspiring all students.
